Couples that sling mud together stay together. Go team Mud Sling!
Being that my husband and I built a house together (and I mean actually built it ourselves), it seemed suiting to spend a day slinging mud at the Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village just outside the city of Edmonton. We spent the morning learning the old fashion way of mixing clay (minus the cow poo) followed by hands on experience mudding a chicken coop. We flung mud at the wall until our arms hurt (that's the best way to get the clay in between the logs). After the mudding we chowed down some Ukraine food and went on a tour of the village. Each building we were greeted with costumed interrupters that no matter what refused to break character.
Totally worth the drive out of the city but be prepared to walk.

As a former museum manager turned librarian, when I'm not reading or writing, I like to get my nerd on and visit museums. Sometimes my husband comes with me. This blog is all about museumy things with a touch of marriage thrown in.
