Day 20 of PBHOT62. I could relate to Ms. Lou as I gazed across the playground. Although I wasn't scared of slides as a child, I was scared of climbing trees and jungle gyms. #amreading someplace high. THE THING LOU COULDN'T DO by Ashley Spires.
PBHOT62 day 19.
Me: Husband can you take a picture of me playing in this box?
Me: How does it look?
Husband: You're grown adult playing in a box.
Me: Laughing uncontrollably for 5 minutes.
#amreading someplace fantastical. #PBHOT62 YOU DON'T WANT TO A UNICORN! by Ame Dyckman, art by Liz Climo.
Day 18 of PBHOT62. Freshly picked saskatoon berries in the am. Bacon and pancakes in the pm. If you didn't think bacon could get any better just add a picture book!
Day 16/17 of PBHOT62. While Pugmuffin enjoyed Boom!, he was sad that we didn't go for an actual drive. After that harrowing read it was time to relax audiobook style!
Week three is here! I'm thrilled to have Penny joining us today. Poetry is my first love and I've always admired writers that write in rhyme (especially when they do it as well as Penny does!). Take it away Penny!
I sit on this couch when reading outside and in this chair when reading inside. I like sitting on the couch because looks out on my yard where birds and squirrels play and are probably weaving their own stories. I like sitting by the fireplace because it’s cozy and perfect for enjoying a good story. As a child I read in bed. I was a very active child who liked playing outside with my three sisters so it was perfect to read in bed after things settled down.
Absolutely gorgeous! Thank you for joining us Penny. THERE WAS AN OLD DRAGON WHO SWALLOWED A KNIGHT will be up for grabs at the end of this challenge (or a per-order copy of A COOKED-UP FAIRY TALE). Please see this week's reading list below. And leave some love for Penny in the comments below. Happy reading!
Penny Parker Klostermann is the author of There Was an Old Dragon Who Swallowed a Knight and the upcoming, A Cooked-Up Fairy Tale, (Sept. 5, 2017). She loves all kinds of books, but especially loves very silly picture books that make her laugh. She has been known to hug her favorite picture books and seriously hopes that someday her books will gain huggable status too. Penny grew up in Colorado and now lives in Abilene, Texas—the Storybook Capital of Texas!
WEEK 3: PBHOT62 Reading List
If I was a flamingo or a ninja, I wouldn't be a very good one. I only lost my balance 1001 times as I read NINJA! "balanced" on one foot. On a side note, this book is beyond adorable and funny!
Can you believe week 3 of PBHOT62 starts tomorrow? Summer is just flying by!
Day 13 of PBHOT62. The guest of honour, Queen Fluffertin wanted nothing to do with these rhyming dust bunnies BUT where there are fluffed up pillows and piles of blankets, there will be dogs.
PBHOT62 day 12. Tackling this week's reading challenge (read to a pet/animal), I choose to read dramatically to my dog with a little help from my cat. Drama much? I guess this is what happens when the cat picks the book.
I'm a future-ready writer-librarian & communications specialists with an entrepreneurial spirit. STEAM enthusiasts (check out my Pinterest boards for inspiration) Thanks for stopping by. Please feel free to connect with me online.
